On ’Thank You & Other Stories’ Mette Juul has written ten songs in which she strives to understand and relate to the world we live in today. She also interprets two cover songs which thematically has inspired her.
These are songs that remind us to be grateful for what we are given, rather than focusing on things we haven’t got. A reminder of how we perceive ourselves.
’The album is partly about relating to your own imperfections’, says Mette Juul.
Mette Juul also reflects on the role we play in each other’s lives, and how we sometimes turn a blind eye to those who do not fit in or can’t keep up with the pace of modern life.
The song ’Disturbance’ is about our ability – or lack of it – to accept diversity and the seemingly odd – people who don’t fit in.
